This is an utter delight of a read. The lack of cynicism is incredibly refreshing - thank you.

This essay was so vivid in its descriptions. I was right there with you for the teenager popcorn projectile.

The bit that will stay w me is this: “I relish seeing love in action; out loud, out and about, and reasserted in the sharing of food. It’s a revitalising force that reminds you of the good the world still makes room for; an aperture of softness in your hardened workday”

As an ex-cinema employee, I felt all of this. The sweet spot pour of the popcorn bag triggered a very specific and very pleasant sense memory, so thank you. This was wonderfully written, and far more positive and uplifting than any memoir of popcorn seller than I would have created 😄

Thank you for being kind. "Working out how to be in the world for the first time is a long, hostile process. God bless them."
