This was a wonderful read, thank you! Also, dropping crumbs etc on the baby’s head is totally normal, mine probably got covered in pasta too. Wishing you all the best with the pregnancy & birth, you might enjoy Kitchens of the Great Midwest if you haven’t read it before, starts with a chef who plans gourmet meals for his newborn, he’s outraged to hear it’s milk only for the first 5-6 months. (She develops an excellent palate nonetheless.)

This felt like a study of how intimacy actually gets built. through habits, care, and small shared rituals. The bed becomes a shelter from the compromises of the rest of life. The writing doesn’t rush to judge that choice. It just sits with the comfort and a hopeful question of how long it can hold.
