Both the pieces were very touching and an eye-opener. The plight of the hospitality industry workers seems as pathetic in the UK, as it is in developing countries, like India. The treatment sounds as bad as that of the gig economy workers. Collectives seem the next best option to unions. Can't help harking back to "Workers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your chains."
