I read this piece with a catch in my throat. Not only does it pick up the nuances of the tough life of a fisherman, but also touches upon the caste system linked with the work. The saddest is how the livelihood of a community is going to be sacrificed, as this is one more area that is going to be handled on a platter to a crony capitalist. I hope the activist writer is going to rally support and create awareness about the life of a prawn-catcher, the threat to a community and the link to the eco-system of the area.
